Kiddie Dual Sensor Smoke Detector Recall

image12

The kiddie dual sensor (photoelectric & ionization) smoke alarm detectors-models PI2010 and PI9010 have been recalled.  The reason for the recall is that a yellow cap on one of the sensors located inside the detector may have been left on during the manufacturing process.  This yellow cap is partially visible when you look at the this detector from the side.  These detectors were sold from September 2016 through January 2018 for between $20 and $40 .

I would recommend that you check to see if you have this smoke detector.  While you are checking on this, you should also test your detectors by pressing the test button located on the detector.  Most carbon monoxide & smoke detectors have a ten year service life.  Replace these life safety devices as needed
